This website is inspired by DisOccupied, a project committed to amplifying companies and brands we SHOULD be supporting, based on their commitment to divest from the Israeli occupation.

Portland Small Business for Palestine is a resource to promote local businesses that stand for a Free Palestine and divestment from Israeli-apartheid. We strive to center the liberation of Palestine, and in turn the liberation of all people, in our effort to build this local community of business owners.

We acknowledge we are not perfect, and like any other human folks on this list are responsible for doing the internal anti-racist + anti-imperialist work. Being on this directory does not absolve anyone of continuing to learn and do better. We strive to center Black + Brown voices in our daily praxis, and encourage all small businesses on this list to activate solidarity into everyday actions. Similarly, we encourage consumers to prioritize seeking services from Black + Brown owned businesses on this list.

We are always open to constructive feedback in how to better disrupt these systems, and create lasting change. The movement for total liberation is larger than us, and it requires various strategies. Our resource is one of many.
